Meghan Williams took her first photography class in 1988, the fall of her senior year of high school. She fell in love and threw herself into her work.  When she won the photography award at the end of the year, the photo teacher said she’d known Meghan was serious when she started wearing her hair pulled back out of her face (so she could see through the viewfinder) and cut her nails (to keep from scratching negatives in the darkroom). :)

Meghan went on to get her BA in Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), one of the top photo schools in the world.  Because of the school’s ties to Kodak and other photo-related companies, Meghan was given the opportunity to utilize a number of digital cameras back when capturing a 600×400 pixel image still felt a bit like a miracle, of course we all thought we’d never give up shooting film. But in 2001 when Meghan was finally able to afford a digital camera that was professional-grade, she set her film camera down for good and packed up her darkroom.  She’d fallen in love with the ease of retouching in a digital medium, and she’s still in love with photography and all it’s facets over tens of thousands of images and two decades later.

You see Meghan’s heart is and always has been to capture beauty.  All her images work to capture beauty and spontaneity. Meghan’s personable nature put her models at ease allowing her to capture them as they are, not in a forced stylized pose.

And we know that people often have hang-ups about themselves. There are many little things we may dislike that others never even notice, but in a picture they feel so obvious… so why leave them there? Here’s an example, once Meghan was photographing a friend who was in her early 60s, but had a face that barely looked 40.  The images came out beautifully, but when they were finished her friend commented on the ugly age spots on her arm.  They’d been friends for years and Meghan had never once noticed them!  So she began retouching them out of the picture. Her friend tried to stop her and said, “no one will recognize me!”  Meghan laughed and told her friend she’d never even seen them before today and they certainly weren’t an identifying characteristic!

So at Dyed4you Photo, the raw pictures are beautiful to start with.  We then edit our favorites – by edit I mean make some black & white or sepia and add other effects that give them a finished or dramatic flair.  If there are some that you decide you want to get retouching services on, the retouching will be completed as well, and the edited and retouched pictures are made available for you to purchase.
